A little tight to wear at first but they fit perfect.

Sadly not for me

A very elegant and pretty shoe made from high quality leather, the food bed feels very comfy, but despite taking meticious care while measuring I slide forword fare so my heel loses contact to much as that it could be ignored and even the lacing is not enough to ensure a stable standing. another thing, since I have a quite high instep the shoe creates a rather unflattering silluette of my foot spilling over. Sizing down to negate my other issue I fear it will hurtfully cut in at that point so I sadly have to lay my long harboured dream of owning these shoes to rest.

My issues are in no way an universal failing of the shoe, They are specific to my quite difficult feet and I just lay them out so other buyers can take them into account when pondering whatever to buy or not to buy.

If you have a flatter feet go for it, but I found the modell not suited on high insteped ones.
From all I can tell they are indeed of a very high quality, warrenting the higher prices and fare superior to others I had in hand of a similar priceclass.
If they are just a little tight, the leather will quite fastly mold around your foot to accomadate it, but if the cut itself is of or the shoe just overall to big, there are no solutions that are becomming of a shoe of this class.
I will surely try my luck again with a different style that hopefully works better on my feet.

We don't typically go by measurements for individuals, as they're not a good way to estimate size. As an example, two of our staff wear the exact same size and width of shoes, but one of them has a foot that measures a full 1' larger across than the other person's when measured flat! Additionally, no two people measure their feet the same. Considering that there's typically a 2mm difference in width and a 4mm difference in length in between half sizes, you can see how a tiny change in measuring could throw you way off.

Great shoes

Bought a pair of these black Gibsons last year. Have been a really great pair of shoes. Quality leather and finishing, showing no wear or tear so far.
Particularly appreciate the wide toe area, which is comfy despite the fact that I have bunions on my big toes. The wide heel makes these extremely walkable. I can use them all day.
Would highly recommend. Definitely buying new shoes from American Duchess when the need arises.
